MEANING OF TAJWEED

The word Tajweed meaning is to recover, make best. Tajweed is known as the skill of properly speaking the Arabic letters or words of the Quran.   • MANNERS OF THE HEART

The first rule is depended on the viewpoint of a person while reading the Quran. Being read Quran, the reader should understand the full meaning of the words and sentences. Before starting to learn Tajweed Quran, the reader needs to clear the mind from all other thoughts.

  • EXTERNAL MANNERS

It is the second rule of Tajweed. Before reciting Holy Quran, the purity of body, clothes, and place are essential. Also preferably turn face to Qiblah. The reader should be cautious to use pure classical Arabic language without using any foreign accent that is called ‘Fussha’.  

  • MAKHARIJ-UL-HUROOF

The third rule release the points of letters are the numerous regions and places on the lips, in the mouth, and in the throat, from where the different sounds of the different letters are produced.

  • SIFAAT-UL-HURUF

The fourth rule of Tajweed contains the appearances of the letters that are called Sifaat-ul-Huruf. These mention the different characteristics of the letters.

  • NOON (THE NOON SAKINAH AND TANWEEN)

While reading or learning Quran, the fifth rule takes care to use the letters Noon and the associated Tanween. The Noon Sakinah and Tanween (vowels that create a “nn” sound directly after it) can be noticeable in four changed ways.

  • MEEM (THE MEEM SAKINAH)

The sixth rule of Tajweed while reciting the Quran concentrates on the letter Meem. The Meem Sakinah can be noticeable in three changed ways.

  • MUDDUD

The seventh rule of reading the Quran with Tajweed contains perpetuation “Muddud”. Its mentions the number of hits that are definite when a vowel letter is tracked by a Mudd letter.

  • LAAM (QAMARIYYA AND SHAMSIYYA)

The eighth rule concerns the letter Laam. The Laam in ‘al’ is prominent if the letter succeeding the al is “Qamariyya” (lunar), but soundless if the letter succeeding the al is “Shamsiyya” (solar).

  • THICKNESS AND THINNESS (TAFKHIM AND TARQEEQ)

The ninth and final rule of Tajweed is the thinness and thickness pronunciation of the Arabic letters. With a heavy accent, Some Arabic letters are always pronounced thick (Tafkhim), with a light accent, some letters are pronounced thin (Tarqeeq).
